The Magnetic Series is designed with intention, inspired by our iconic history in the pen industry. At a time of prolific manufacturing, Tom Hessin (then known as T.Hessin & Co) made pen nibs at their premises, at the Magnetic Works in Birmingham, England. Here, nibs were magnetised – a process, which meant the nibs were easier to handle. At this time, ‘hawkers’ would set off to Birmingham’s Bullring market and attract passers-by to show the magnetised nibs floating in water and pointing to the north.
With all this history, we are compelled to share our legacy story in our latest designs in the Magnetic Series.
Unapologetic luxury. Ritz exudes luxurious style. With its ostentatious gold and silver design, elegant barrel with legacy diamond detailing and the most richly satisfying magnetic cap close. An unashamed rollerball pen show-off! The centre of attention and owning it!
Designed with intention, Ritz in the Magnetic Series takes inspiration from our historic Magnetic Series of pens, dating back to the 19th Century. Once, produced in prolific number and magnetised at T.Hessin & Co’s manufacturing premises, the Magnetic Works.
Today, the Magnetic Series offers a contemporary design with Hessin’s rich legacy embedded into every pen. Ritz stands out with its magnetic cap to barrel close and eye catching electroplated chrome finish. Made with precision, the Hessin legacy diamond is reinterpreted on the pen body with decorative guilloche barrel, inspired by an old stamp detail found in the family archives.
The Ritz rollerball provides a smooth writing experience with a lovely laydown of ink on the page. Adorning the magnetic close cap (which can be posted) is a gold plated clip that features an engraved five diamond design detail emblematic of the five generations that span the Tom Hessin legacy.
